You might have noticed us mention it once or twice here at Skiddle, but we love the underdog. We've adored our time in huge festivals, lost our minds in the biggest and most outrageous clubs in the UK and across the globe, but there's some unquantifiable magic about an event which manages to go beyond expectation time and time again.

Over the last eight years no one has done that better than Carlise stronghold Uber, who have strived to bring premier house and techno to one of England's most northerly outposts with a consistent fervour during that bear decade. This year alone they've welcomed MK, Fatboy Slim, James Zabiela and Annie Mac to the city, with the likes of Todd Terry, Pete Tong, Erol Alkan and Groove Armada all amongst its previous guests.

It's clear Uber have a penchant for big headliners, so with the next big shindig being their eighth birthday party, Uber have gone all out by enticing three international DJing dons to the decks at Carlisle's The Venue.

Taking over headline duties will be the larger-than-life presence of Dirtybird mainstay Eats Everything (see him in action above), who will be going back to back with Uber favourite Yousef for only the second time ever. The two initially came together at Yousef's night Circus earlier this year, with outstanding results - expect plenty of thrills as these two rip through three hours of peak time bliss.

Uber's line up also boasts the arrival of the king of edits - Greg Wilson, who returns to Uber for the first time in four years. Having been there since the start by helping nurture electronic and house music in the UK, as well becoming the first Briton to ever mix two tracks together on a pair of turntables, live on television, Greg Wilson is rightly regarded as a DJing icon. His place at the front of the disco revival too is without question - his set will be something quite special.

Rounding off the engorged bill will be a selection of Uber stalwarts - Gary Hunter, Jaime Roy, Mike Barty, Mike Boorman, Old Boy and Scott Rafferty, who have all been an intrinsic part of the clubnight's success over the past eight years. Get your tickets here.
