Under The Spotlight: Sigma
Sigma are a duo that needs no introduction, and we can't wait to see their DnB blasting out the speakers during this year's festival forays; particularly during their set at Highest Point Festival!
Date published: 5th Apr 2023
Since the duo’s inception in 2007, Sigma have more than made their presence known on the UK Drum and Bass Scene. Composed of Cameron Edwards and Joe Lenzie, their time as Sigma has seen nothing but an upwards trajectory, with the duo now regarded as some of the most respected producers and highly sought-after DJs in the whole scene.
With a sound characterised by its high energy, infectious beats, and catchy melodies, Sigma's unique style has enchanted many a raver and has seen many a gun finger run out of ammo. But what makes them stand out is the expertly blended sound that they continue to make both fresh and familiar, fusing different styles and genres and earning them both critical acclaim and a devoted fan base.
Over the years the DnB pioneers have produced many a hit single, including the likes of "Nobody to Love," "Changing," "Find Me," and "2 Hearts," all of which showcase their exceptional production skills and have seen many a crowd crash into each other in a joyous skank. Sigma's musical expertise has not gone unnoticed in the industry either, as they have collaborated with some of the biggest names in the biz. Such names include Paloma Faith, Rita Ora, Labrinth, and Ella Henderson to name a few.
Whilst you wouldn’t be blamed for grooving along in your kitchen to the duo; these live performances are where Sigma truly shine. From the high-octane soundscape blasting from the speakers to the stunning visuals and lighting that come along with it, a Sigma set is truly a sight to behold. Plus, their ability to read an audience and match the vibe of the room is unparalleled, making their live shows electric and on the pulse.
With their penchant for a bassline, high-energy set, and ability to fuse different styles and genres Sigma are just one of those Artists you have to experience in the flesh. Out of all the places their festival forays are taking them this year, our pick of the bunch is Lancaster's Highest Point Festival, where the stunning surrounds of Williamson Park will add the extra edge to an already mesmeric live show. We’ll see you skanking down at the front!
