Synonymous with its education institution, the city of Oxford is equally prolific in the musical ranks. Aside from garnering a rich music scene due its dense student population, the city boasts a raft of high flying bands who've thrived from that scene.
After pummelling the UK arena's with riff heavy impetus, Foals have grown from a noodley four piece to indie behemoths. They trace back to Oxford's live circuit, likewise do Radiohead, Supergrass and Ride to clearly evidence that the city is a rich breeding ground for guitar music.
Peaking at some of our favourites that lie ahead, acoustic folk-pop sensation Emmy The Great drops by on Friday 11th March to peddle her ethereal inventory including 2016's 'Algorithm' which initialises the follow up to her last record Virtue (listen to her song 'Swimming Pool above).
Moving to artists bleeping our radar, nineties tinged alt-pop band ALXNDR pitch up with the infectious 'Four A.M' in their locker.
September Girls are another band piquing our attention with atmospheric noise-pop laced in influences from Vivian Girls to My Bloody Valentine.
Power-punk legends Less Than Jake leaping the atlantic is another one we're most excited for in May. They've been at the forefront of the genre for over two decades and outline the venue's balance between emerging and well established acts. See the full listings and tickets.
