Canal Mills is a staple part of the Northern music scene, not only does the space boldly house some of dance music's most dominant club nights and musical taste-makers, it welcomes arts with open arms, and provides the perfect environment for creative individuals to express themselves in the city.
Since Canal Mills re-established itself back in 2012, the venue and the roster of artists that have paid a visit to the industrial space have given Leeds a clubbing landmark worth boasting about. They push forward this season with more jaw-dropping line ups, leaving us spoilt for choice as we head into winter.
The proceedings kick off on Friday 17th October with Mono_Cult's Innervision event with imprint owners Dixon and Ame taking centre stage. The following day breakbeat and garage connoisseur Zed Bias headlines Detonate as part of his Retirement Tour (watch him in action below). The pioneering DJ is set to hang up his headphones permanently and he's enlisted the help of Loefah, Preditah and Mele as he bids farewell to life behind the decks.
When it comes to October 31st festivities, Canal Mills have got things covered with their Halloween at the Mill extravaganza. A knock-out selection of house music's finest will be spread across three rooms, with Jackmaster, Scuba, Ten Walls, Bicep and tons more spinning for the costumed crowd.
As we move into November, Saturday 15th sees Red Bull Music Academy set up camp at Canal Mills, and with them bring dance music royalty Erol Alkan, Moodymann, Daniel Avery, George Fitzgerald and John Talabot to Leeds. Deep and bass house duo Dusky take charge on Friday 21st November for a leg of their 'The Next Step' tour (get a taste of what's to come with their Essential Mix below).
Another pair that have secured themselves their own headline tour are Gorgon City, the chart toppers consist of Foamo and RackNRuin and have together worked to achieve a string of killer releases, all of which feature on their 'Sirens' album, they bring the tour under the same name to Leeds on Saturday 29th November.
Futuresound presents Soft Sound on Thursday 11th December as Wild Beasts head to Canal Mills for an exclusive live show. Mono_Cult returns for a colossal New Years Day event with innovative electronic music legend Four Tet and Caribou's moniker Daphni, to name just a few of the influential names celebrating the first day of 2015 in the city.
