After a particularity hectic end to 2013, Egg London bursts into 2014 with even more conviction to keep the fires stoked in London's closely fought underground clubbing world. Now assuredly the go-to nightspot for discerning clubbers, Egg remains supremely popular due to being unparalleled in its philosophy, aesthetic, and ability to throw a damn fine party.
The 10th of January sees Berlin based house maestro Claptone get down to Egg for the latest installment of X presents. Everyone will know his mighty 2012 reworking of Wu Tang Clan's Cream (above), but each of his follow up release have proved his undeniable skills as a producer, creating house music that is alien as well as being familiar at the same time. Ninetoes and Chris Lorenzo provide support.
One of the biggest names in techno arrives for Night Train on the 11th Jan - Moritz Von Oswald. As part of iconic dub techno duo Basic Channel and the staggeringly evergreen Maurizio (check out Domina below, 21 years old and still sounds fresh), Moritz has been instrumental in changing the face of electronic dance music. He headlines with Mark Henning, Larse, and Him_self_her in support.
The following weekend sees a fizzing line up of house music giants set up shop in the King's Cross club. Dale Howard, Inxec, Droog and barber all chip in for a night of unbridled, four-to-the-floor house music goodness.
Then, Yousef and his all conquering Circus party roll into town, with the man himself joined by Bass Music Awards best newcomers Gorgon City, genre bending bass queen Hannah Wants and German house fiend Oliver $.
On the 24th Egg Presents... invites Hypercolour and Defected garage obsessive Shenoda to get behind the decks, joined by NYC duo and Nurvous records mainstays Walker & Royce and Purple Disco Machine.
Fact kicks of it's 2014 season with a rebirth Records showcase, with a discerning line up of deep house veterans and up and comers lined up to provide the soundtrack. The silky smooth Ripperton headlines, with Tevo Howard, Shield, Chromatic Filters and Nico De Ceglia in support.
The 31st of January sees brand new night Kurv embark on its clubland career with a stellar line up of bass music royalty in its roster. Have a read of our full preview on that night here. Grab your tickets at the foot of the article.
