Liverpool's Baltic district has seen a huge resurgence in recent years. As the destination for the city's recent celebration of divergent cultures and the grass roots arts scene Threshold, the proliferation of unused warehouses and uncluttered city space has made it the perfect place to house stellar electronic music.
Venues such as Camp and Furnace, Haus, Kitchen St and District have all led the charge, but one venue that has quickly delivered a reputation for all hours escapism, a premier destination for Liverpool's more hedonistic and discerning clubbers, The Garage.
Nestled on Greenland St, the venue boasts a huge 100k Funktion One sound system with a lighting rig befitting high end production, combining with a classic warehouse space to make for a brilliantly exuberant clubbing experience. Ahead of an exciting run of form for the venue we've spotlighted the upcoming events taking place in the next few weeks.
The first party in April sees the presence of Romanian house music royalty at the venue in the shape of a third of ar:pir:ar, Rhadoo. His lithe grooves have caught the ears of Cocoon, Cadenza and many more, with his recent Fabric mix a thing of absolute beauty.
We previewed the party in greater detail here, and you can secure your tickets at this link.
Peach returns to The Garage with Romania born, Berlin stalwart Markus Homm heading up proceedings. The long standing tech and deep house engineer has enjoyed enormous success with his output on labels like Diynamic and Highgrade announcing the arrival of a supreme talent.
With regular appearances at Berlin's most discerning nightspots, including Panorama Bar, Watergate and Tresor, Markus Homm is a true house and techno powerhouse, with his stripped back, swirling, bassy productions making him one of the techno capital's most celebrated stars. He'll be joined by the Peach residents for a storming selection of deeper house and techno.
Rubix invite Detroit technician Stacey Pullen (above) to headline on April 20th. Having been mentored by the finest in the business, namely Derrick May, Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson, Stacey Pullen continues to be one of the most respected producers in his field.
A genuine innovator from his debut right until now, his mastery of rolling basslines, unhinged atmospherics and dance floor prowess makes him a true party starter, a definite must see for fans of tech house and techno. Celebrated Italian deep house and dub techno duo The White Brothers join him for another blistering edition of Rubix.
Club Freeze Presents Bedrock, Liverpool Warehouse Party 09/02/13 from Deerstalker on Vimeo.
The always on point Freeze team set up shop at The Garage on the 26th April, joined by one of the most revered record labels in the world, Bedrock for a full on 10 hour music marathon. Label boss and master of hypnotic electronics John Digweed leads the charge - watch the video above form the last time they brought him to Liverpool.
Since taking the clubbing world by storm back in the mid nineties, Digweed has proven himself to be persistently at the forefront of dance music innovation. His instantly recognisable combination of 'tunneling techno, meticulously crafted melodies, trippy sonics and groove heavy house' (as can be heard on his classic 'Structures' mix) continue to make him a favourite for dance music connoisseurs around the globe.
He will be joined by BPitch control head honcho Ellen Allien and Bedrock favourite Jemmy for an unmissable installment of Freeze.
