Liverpool is a city endowed with great venues. From historic club settings like the East Village Arts Club (formerly the Masque) right up to the proliferation of unusual venues in the city, scouse soirees tend t have a glorious setting. No truer is that the case than with the Kazimier, an utterly delightful former theatre nestled on Wolstenholme Square next to the world renowned Nation.
It couldn't be any more different from its illustrious neighbour, countering the warehouse expanse of the home of Cream with an intimate club and live music space that crowds round a single stage and dance-floor. Home to a number of events where the fancy dress theme has been allayed to an unreal focus on production and an air of the exotic, it's adjacent Garden proved to be one of the most delightful spaces in the city during the summer as well.
We've currently got a raft of great events at the venue on sale, starting with the launch of Natalie McCool's tour on Thursday 7th November (you can read all about that in great detail here). There's more live music on the 12th November as well when Submotion Orchestra hit the venue, the seven piece firm favourites of Gilles Petersen with their atmospheric live take on bass music. Check them out above, and head here for tickets.
Next up involves Freeze and Little Sister combining to bring James Holden and his Border Community project to the city, taking place on Saturday 16th November. Fans of melodic and leftfield techno will be well catered for by this, and if you're quick there's still chance to enter our competition for that here. More off kilter music, this time on the soul and R&B tip, comes in the shape of AUTRE NE VEUT on Tuesday 19th November.
Alice Russell's heavenly reggae tinged beats adorn Saturday 23rd, the songstress currently touring her 5th Studio album To Dust (stream above via Spotify). Whilst you'd expect her latest opus to provide the bulk of the material, previous work with the likes of Roy Ayers, Mr Scruff, Quantic and Nostalgia 77 alongside her own solo stuff should make an appearance. Support comes from Norwegian singer Ragz Nordset returning to her acoustic roots, and the main ticketlink on this article is what you need to follow to get your tickets for that one.
The Scandinavian connection continues on Tue 3rd December with Olafur Arnalds, with our final ticketed event at the venue in 2013 seeing legend in the making John Smith bring the guitar virtuoso capability that has seen hot praise from the Sunday Times and an ever expanding fanbase. You want tickets for that, this is where to navigate on your next cyberspace outing.
