It's a bit grim up here in Skiddle HQ, but as grey as the skies are, our outlook remains sunnier than that thick orange juice that rots your teeth. And here's the multitude of reasons why...

Festivals

Loveboxx released their huge line up this week, whilst the star of that festival last year, Nas, was added to Detonate (see him in action below). Elsewhere High Definition, Bestival, Coloursfest and Creamfields all made their bills even bigger - adding to the multitude of choice on the festival circuit this year.

Got kids? We rounded up five of the best family friendly festivals, and if you're craving sunshine, we've taken a closer look at Croatian delight Suncebeat. If you are heading abroad this year be sure to check our top tips piece, a must read if you've never left the country for a festival before.

Clubs

Cream and Freeze added more to their jaw-dropping Asylum event, whilst we lingered over why we love the star of that show, Marco Carola. Drop the Mustard turn six soon, whilst we caught up with Cocoon's latest starlet Marcus Fix and shed some love on Garage Nation.

Elsewhere we were enamoured when we headed down to Abandon Silence, and were delivered a cracker of a mix from RAM Records' Frankee - if you like D&B you will love this (above). Oh and Ibiza is coming! Sankeys' opening parties look sweet, and we're getting more and more excited about the White Isle by the day.

Live Music

The Flying Lotus show in London has got ridiculous with the addition of MF Doom and Lapalux; there are festivals with worse line ups than that. Tour wise we're looking forward to Dutch Uncles, Matthe E White and Blossoms heading off on the road, and we got stuck into the latest Noel Gallagher's Flying Birds album - it's great.

That's pretty much all we have time for this week - try and take solace in the fact I'm only seven days away from your inbox. Don't miss me too much.
