This weekend, Boogietown Festival will be taking place at Apps Court Farm in Walton-On -Thames. A festival that is dedicated to all things soul and disco, it is a prime place to feel the groove and get dancing. With not long to go, we thought we'd give you the rundown on the festival.
The first thing you should know about Boogietown 2023 is that it is going to be the biggest edition of the festival to date and we don't say that lightly. There will be four arenas dotted around the site including the main stage, Disc Disco stage, the boogie bus and Trevor Nelson's Soul Nation & Craig Charles' Funk & Soul stage. The latter is a collaboration between two absolute legends.
You can't think funk and soul without giving thought to two people who have extensive knowledge of the genres. They'll be joined by Lemar, Romina Johnson, Shola Ama and more on their stage. The main stage will be welcoming in the headliners, which this year include the likes of Billy Ocean and Shalamar.
If you take a look at all the stages, huge names are spread around. You'll find Armand Van Helden, Groove Armada, Norman Jay MBE and DJ Spoony spread across the site meaning that wherever you look, there will be someone on hand to get you dancing. With disco balls littered around the site, there's no way you won't be moving your feet at some point.
You'll find the festival site a short distance out of London, just 35 minutes away from the city which makes it easily accessible. Boogietown not only offers music but plenty of wellness activities too, meaning you can take a much needed breather from all the action. You will also be able to let loose on fairground attractions such as dodgems, which is all part of making it a memorable weekend experience.
It looks like it's going to be an absolute scorcher this weekend, so make sure you bring sun protection and drink plenty of water. There are limited tickets available, which means that it isn't too late to get yourself down to one of the best funk and soul festivals of the year. You can find tickets towards the bottom of the page.
