Wickerman remains one of our favourite festivals of the season. Set in the midst of the stunning, rolling hills of Kirkcudbrightshire in Dumfries & Galloway, Wickerman embodies everything that makes a festival great; fantastic atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and a cracking crowd are regular features of Wickerman.

Of course, an amazing music lineup should also be added to that recipe, and Wickerman delivers it by the truckload.

With the main arenas being announced recently for the festival, today we have the privilege of announcing the lineup for Bass Camp; a.k.a. Wickerman's infamous dance tents, and the beating heart of the festival experience.

First off, Friday’s Em-It tent will play host to electro and techno guru Elite Force, a man who has received high praise from industry giants such as Fatboy Slim and Jon Carter. South London breaks maverick Meat Katie will also be getting into the thick of the action, showcasing his uncompromising, bass heavy, no nonsense approach to DJing.

Cutting edge house and electro DJ Simon Jackson, the highly skilled South African born Ash Howell, the tech funk stylings of Mark McIver and bass fuelled grime champion Louise ‘Fifties’ O’Donnell will round off the bill, for what promises to be an incredible opening night in the Em-It Tent.

Saturday’s edition will see one of the heroes of techno arrive in Scotland: Dave Clarke. Often dubbed the ‘Baron of Techno’, Dave Clarke is a DJ that broke through to the big time in 1994 with his own brand of innovative techno and uncategorizable electronic music. Ever since he has continued to grow in popularity, as his reputation as one of the most forward thinking techno DJs and producers in the world looks set for some time.

Joining him will be Justin Robertson, who, from humble beginning working at Eastern Bloc Record store in Manchester, went on to run his own club nights, later playing at the infamous Hacienda, and soon enough became one of the most successful and prolific remixers in his field. Ministry of Sound favourite Rebecca Vasmant will also be joining in proceedings, along with DJ Ray McKinney, Carsin Therain, and local artists Stav and Struan.

Our very own Skiddle tent is looking equally as impressive this year.

One of the acts confirmed so far includes the fantastic Kissy Sellout - one of the most in demand electro DJs on the scene. His irrepressible style, contagious stage presence and mischievous determination are a joy to behold, and one that will go down a storm with the Wickerman massive.

Andy Durrant will be alongside him. The Capital FM DJ has garnered himself much praise for his tireless searching out and unearthing of new music. With his finger ever on the pulse, Andy Durrant is a DJ whose sets are always at the cutting edge of the music scene. His appearance at Wickerman is hotly anticipated.

Add to that the promise of big room powerhouse Kryder, Mixmag favourite D.O.D, Felix Leiter, Nick Coulsen, Junior J, Aitchie, Dave Tunstall, Duology and the ever impressive Beats of Rage DJs (The Filth Wizard, Joe Hindle, and Breadman), and you’ve got one hell of a party lined up.

With more acts yet to be announced, this year's Bass Camp is already looking like being an unforgettable tour of everything that is good in the world of Dance music. We can’t wait to get involved.
