With the goNORTH tent now in its third year, it will continue to showcase some of the most exciting new acts to have emerged from the Scottish music scene, with acts selected following submissions earlier in the year.
Following on from the main event in Inverness last week, goNORTH welcome Glasgow four-piece Three Blind Wolves as Friday headliners. Drawing on influences from a wide range of artists including My Morning Jacket, Nirvana, Pavement and even Neil Young, the psychedelic folk tinged rock quartet have gone on to receive considerable critical acclaim and their high energy trademark performance will light up the goNORTH tent on Friday.
Watch: Prides - Out Of The Blue
Saturday will see the cutting edge pop tinged stylings of Prides take centre stage. The Scottish three piece have become well known for their incredibly honest and memorable lyrics against a backdrop of synth laden electro pop.
They will be joined by the equally pop-tastic Be Like Pablo, whose catchy guitar hooks and luminescent vocal harmonies will warm your soul. Their infinitely likeable, almost geeky approach is one that has earned them fans across the country. Don’t miss them at this years Wickerman!
We also have the cracking Hector Bizerk to look forward to. With an intoxicating mixture of skillfully versatile drumming and poetic lyrics dripping with insightful social commentaries, the hip hop duo are a distinctly unique voice in Scotland that definitely need to be seen.
Joining them will be Dutch band MAASK. Combining electronics with beat boxing, the double act forge a sound that takes in music from across the spectrum into one cohesive oddity, that is stylistically thrilling.
Other bands at goNORTH will be Blood Relatives, Friend in America, Pinact, Arches, Lidh, Eugene Twist, The Deadline Shakes, Plastic Animals, The Velveteen Saints, Casual Sex, The Yawns, The OK Social Club, plus many many others.
Wickerman is definitely shaoping up to be the place to hear the the biggest bands of tomorrow in a cutting edge lineup that will take some beating.
