Chase and Status headline this year's Chibuku New Year's Eve party at the Camp and Furnace… and we have a pair of tickets to give away.
After an uncertain week which saw Chibuku Shake Shake's long standing home of The Masque close down, the clubbing institution moved fast to secure a new venue for its NYE party - the stunning, Warehouse style Camp and Furnace in the Jamaica Street area.
And something else completely new for NYE 2011 - for the first time ever the club is booking some headline guests to help usher in 2012 with rather fine style indeed, with Chase and Status, Fake Blood and Futurebound & MC Madrush amongst the acts set to appear.
Chase and Status are arguably the UK’s biggest crossover dance act. They have assailed the charts with No More Idols, worked with a who’s who roll call of global stars and their stadium-rocking live and DJ sets have sent them around the world. Chase and Status have maintained the independent creative kudos and continue to dominate the scene; their birth in drum and bass has evolved to a wider-ranging stylistic template, which sees them revered as both champions elect and champions for everything that’s great in electronica. After smashing Buku’s birthday earlier this year, it’s great to have the guys back headlining NYE, with MC Rage providing the vocals.
Theo Keating aka Fake Blood is dance music’s chameleon, who hit the top of the charts with big beat and the Wiseguys, forged a successful career as DJ Touché in the electro and techno fields and married erstwhile song writing and gut wrenching beats alongside Simian’s Simon Lord in the Black Ghosts before his Fake Blood project came underway.
Rejecting all the privileges his previous fame afforded him when starting out, Theo knocked out a slew of dance floor bombs which were shrouded in secrecy and masked in anonymity, slowly going from unknown quantity to internet sensation. And the interest didn’t yield once his identity was revealed; with his instantly recognisable ‘I think I Like It’ smashing festival arenas and daytime radio playlists with deft ease and the Fake Blood road show headlining clubs across the globe.
Viper Recordings’ Futurebound 2011 has had a busy 2011. The Viper Recordings camp has been busy at work with successful releases from the likes of Camo & Krooked, ShockOne & Phetsta, and Smooth, which have all dominated the D&B charts. His own collaboration with Metrik 'Brave New World' and 'Sabotage' also both hit number one on Beatport, as well as gaining huge support from Zane Lowe and Annie Nightingale at Radio1. Liverpool through and through, Brendan’s return is fitting for the NYE celebrations, and he brings Buku fave MC Mad Rush along for the ride. The club’s resident James Rand also stars, with more names to be announced.
