If there's a DJ of our times who is nudging towards national treasure status, it's surely Craig Charles. His BBC 6 Music shows are pure euphoria, soul drenched exercises in dance music through the ages shot with complete joy - and live he's consistently resplendent with that feelgood appeal too.

He's got a hugely busy December ahead of him, with one of those shows seeing him lead a full star aural assault on Blackpool's Empress Ballroom on Saturday 13th December. T\here he's joined by Soul II Soul, the group who have been British soul royalty since the release of their debut album Club Classics Volume One back in 1989 (stream below on Spotify).

The group will be performing with a full live band that includes original members Jazzie B and Caron Wheeler, with Charles taking over the Christmas shindig afterwards for a funk-fuelled journey through Northern soul, vintage R&B, reggae and much more - and one of you could be going for free.
