The overproof rum specialists Wray & Nephew plunge into summer with a run of Caribbean parties in London, Leeds and Bristol. Celebrating the sounds of jungle, drum & bass, reggae, dancehall and dub, the Rum Tings parties have established themselves as fine purveyors of Caribbean culture, showcasing the finest in music and food from the region. Watch highlights from last year below.
On August 1st they're back with their annual Jamaican Independence party at Lakota in Bristol, with jungle icon Congo Natty, drum & bass heavyweight LTJ Bukem and Krust all performing special reggae sets. Skitz, Rodney P and Uncle Dugs are some of the other selectors supplying the celebratory vibes.
Dillinja and Kiko Bun are at the helm for the London leg of the Independence party on August 8th, which lands at Brixton Jamm. The party moves back up north to Leeds' Belgrave Music Hall on August 22nd, with Massive Attack's Daddy G and the mighty Toddla T warming us up for Notting Hill in sublime fashion.
The season wraps up at London's Big Chill House with another exclusive reggae set from Daddy G. This time out, Fabio gets his roots and dub records out too, whilst Rinse FM's Uncle Dugs and Navigator set the tone for the incoming London carnival.
