London-based Grime MC and M.I.A. collaborator Afrikan Boy, and UK Hip Hop don and Mercury Music Prize nominee TY will jointly headline The Shrine at Rich Mix this Friday. On the decks for the evening will be one of The Shrine's residents, BBC Radio 3's Max Reinhardt with what is set to be a wild and wily night out filled with music, dance and visuals... If you were lucky enough to get a ticket for the ABSOLUT Blank Live event this weekend, then you are in for an ABSOLUT treat (see what we did there?). Video artist Saam Farahmand has been creating portraits of hundreds of well-known and less known people in a pod that captures and films every movement so that effects are created in real time by every participant. Together with ABSOLUT, renowned special guest DJ Jamie XX will be mixing these portraits live into a unique A/V set in what is set to be an incredibly special event. Friday 2nd December, 21:00-2:00. Freerange Records is somewhat of a veteran on the electronic music scene, having discovered some of the most influential acts in house music over the past 15 years. With 175+ tracks and over 1000 releases to their name, it is about time they celebrated this monumental achievement. Joining them for a special Live performance is Isolee, responsible for one of their most charted tracks in the past year – a remix of Manuel Tur’s Most of this Moment. Label partner and A&R man Jimpster will also be demonstrating why he is one of the key producer-DJ’s on the scene, whilst new kid on the block Session Victim will be celebrating the release of his debut single with an exciting Live performance – A birthday party not to be missed.
