With a Friday night lineup like that, it would be silly for us not to go silly on the Saturday as well! We already had a great idea who we wanted to finish off our festival, so when our legendary resident James Ryan said he was available for duty, we simply couldn’t refuse. We came across Ryan at his own self promoted Insomnia & Excession nights in a village hall in Keswick, which we are pleased to say PROGressed into a beautiful relationship. After his recent Turnmills debut (yes the one in London!) and appearences across the North of England, this is a man not to be missed, with his first ever mix "Hampster Dust" taking runner up in the progressive house section of Guy Ornadel's future heroes comp, we really couldn’t think of anyone more deserving to close the weekend for us.
Before we talk about the end though, like a jam sandwich we have a fantastic centre. Yousef is a name synonymous with slick, jackin’ sleazy beats, edged with an aggressive and relentless groove. He is a DJ and producer that literally lives and breathes house music and who still practises his sets today - always trying to improve his technical abilities. He is also a DJ and producer that knows how to put the fun into house music and loves a good Circus.
Since before Skiddle was born we've loved this DJ, following him from his Cream residency to the dance floor of Circus, with many a club along the way. A floor shaker and music maker Yousef sites his biggest accomplishments as being true to his roots (after his Cream residency had finished) and keeping house music alive in his home city by making his own night 'Circus' an essential night out in Liverpool, his Radio 1 residency and getting signed as 10,000 BC to Junior Boys Own. Be sure to check Yousef just before the burning of the Wickerman on Saturday, he's sure hot enough to ignite matters!
With the full lineup now announced, skiddle.com is excited to be returning to the festival for third year and intend to make this our best show yet! Don’t forget elsewhere at the festival The Skiddle.com Solus Tent (with performances from Popup, Steve Mason & More), Our Sunshine Social with Phat Phil Cooper & Friends or The Skiddle.com Big Comedy Picnic. If that’s not enough, don’t forget the Fun Lovin’ Criminals, The Proclaimers, The Orb & Eat Static all on the main stage. Seriously good fun in the sun!
