Since way back in September 2008 Zutekh has been plugging away tirelessly in Manchester's underground dance music scene. With its line ups and rave fueled atmosphere becoming increasingly renowned, they've carved an ardent following, as its foresight and booking nous has yet to falter.
The likes of Ben Pearce, Brawther, Cassy, Craig Richards, Dyed Soundorom, Levon Vincent, Heidi, Ryan Crosson, Tiefschwarz and Tom Demac amongst many more members of house and techno royalty have all been previous Zutekh guests, cementing what has been an incredible run for the party.
Zutekh's fifth anniversary then holds in store a reliably thrilling line up of guest DJs, primed for maximum birthday carnage on Feb 1st at Sound Control.
Stepping up to the plate will be Berghain and Panorama resident Ryan Elliott. In his long career, Ryan has consistently smashed boundaries and preconceptions with his wild and adventurous groove-wise sets. With a concentration on bass line drive techno and house, he has repeatedly pushed the limits in true Detroit fashion.
As one half of Spectral Sounds alongside Matthew Dear, Ryan has been responsible for putting out some of the most intriguing and engaging electronic work for years. Since signing with Otsgut Ton back in 2011, Ryan's ability to work, challenge and thrill a crowd continues to strike a chord with discerning techno fans. Just check out his appearance at the Boiler Room (above) to get a flavour for what this guy is capable of.
Joining him will be one of Holland's finest producers - Gerd (also in the Boiler Room below). We're not sure what's going on in the Netherlands at the moment, maybe it's something in the water, but the Dutch are by far and away leading the way in techno and house innovation.
Gerd in particular in his 20 years in electronic music has consistently and prolifically worked his way onto record labels like the iconic Clone, M>O>S and established his very own, scene leading 4 Lux, with a repertoire that takes in acid, knackered house, and gritty techno. His reputation as a DJ precedes him, with a vibrant, infectious quality that few possess.
