mUmU have become renowned in their hometown for their Bank Holiday hijinx. Having regularly delivered some of the most discerning all day rave ups the city has encountered, mUmU time and again welcome the biggest movers and shakers in the techno underground to get their hands dirty via some all day four to the floor carnage.
This bank Holiday is no different, as the lauded party starters return with their 'Sessions' series, a string of events showcasing the full breadth of their guest DJs vision through supremely absorbing marathon sets. In their sights for Sunday May 4th will be Detroit native Ryan Elliott and Berghain main man Marcel Dettmann.
Ryan Elliott will be taking over day time duties with his trademark foray of decisive drum patterns, eclectic techno variations and floor filling dynamic crowd presence (check those out above). The Spectral Sound A&R man has become one of the most exciting forces in techno, with his move to Berlin only bolstering that fact.
Having released work on labels like the hugely influential Ostgut Ton, Bass Culture and Restoration Records, where he teamed up with Analogue Cops with electrifying results, Ryan Elliott continues to dazzle with his sublime DJing skills and singular techno vision.
The evening sees the mighty Marcel Dettmann takeover on the ones and twos. We recently caught the man himself at his colossal best (read our review here), as he once again underlined his stature within the business.
His faultless DJing skills, peerless track selection and mastery of 'the journey' have made him one of techno's most respected DJs and producers (check out what we mean from his Time Warp 2013 set above). For those that love pure techno at it's finest and most rugged, Dettmann is a god send. mUmU have outdone themselves with this one. Bag your mUmU tickets here.
