mUmU Sessions begins

When mUmU called time on the clubnight as we know it on their Sixth Birthday they promised a new chapter; mUmU Session is that commitment. Read about it here.

mUmU signed off six years of activity on February 1st in the manner only they know how, delivering a typically stunning showcase of house and techno at its finest with DJ sets from Ryan Eliot, Radio Slave and Gary Beck closing the door on 72 months of underground exploration. As revealed to us by promoter Trevor O'Loughlin when we spoke to him earlier on this year, the clubnight is "changing the blueprint (and) taking it back to foundation level", by stripping the event down to a focus on a singular DJ.

They will still be continuing to head down to London to occasionally host a Room at superclub du jour Fabric, where they will celebrate their birthday there on Saturday 22nd February with Virginia, Lee Rands, Chris Maran and previous Skiddle Mix incumbents Henry St Social (check their promo mix for the party above). But for Liverpool, it's all about a singular guest in the newly reformed mUmU Sessions.

The aim is to provide the chance for artists to express their musical personality across the evening, championing the long held art of a DJ locking their audience in the groove. First up is Mathias Kaden, who will kick off the new era by returning to the club after s six hour back to back set with Daniel Stefanik in August 2013. A furiously energetic DJ (check his set at Timewarp last year below as proof), he's also capable of shifting the tempo with deft ease, and will demonstrate this acumen over four hours.

His sets constantly traverse the full spectrum of house music, with his productions crtopping up on labels such as Vakanat and his own imprint Freude am Tanzen, with remix work for Matthias Tanzmann, Onur Özer, Dapayk, Anja Schneider, Trentemöller all showcasing his prowess. Support also comes from the man who has been at mUmU since the first record was played over six years ago, Lee Rands.

Ticket info for the event can be found at this link, whilst we are also on sale for the following mUmU Sessions on Saturday 5th April, with Enzo Siragusa of Fuse fame..
