From the strength of Canal Mills run of events over the last few months (find out what they're up to this winter here), not to mention its sublime arts programme and dedication to all avenues of creativity in Leeds, we were understandably excited to see what they'd come up with for their New Year's Day party. That excitement it turns out was entirely justified.
mono_cult take charge of the first Canal Mills rave of 2015, welcoming an all star ensemble of pioneering electronic artists representing the full spread of forward thinking dance music.
First up is the always impressive Four Tet whose sets notoriously wade between old skool UK garage and oddball electronica, via fractured techno and obscure field recordings. Expect a real journey that will delight the mind and the feet, as heard in his Boiler Room appearance above.
Dan Snaith brings his Daphni guise along for the party too. On the back of a killer LP (more on that here) under his Caribou alias, Snaith evokes his more underground, experimental, but firmly dancefloor oriented alter ego for his Canal Mills appearance. Expect big things.
The night will also star stand out selections from Floating Points, Gerd Janson, Move D, Matt Long and Brad Mercer. Get your Canal Mills New Year's Day tickets here.
