Read our London house music correspondent Jack Needham running down his surefire selections for clubnight picks in the capital revolved around Jack’s groove.

IAlthough house music generally sounds better by Ibizan sunsets, boat parties and scantily clad females (what doesn’t?) we’ve all felt the urge to go into hibernation until next summer. Don’t do that too quickly though, for as we enter the autumn months this doesn’t mean that the fun has to fade away as quickly as your tan has.

From the off we have Viva Warriors welcoming Steve Lawler and self-proclaimed ‘slave to TRUE. HOUSE. MUSIC’ Darius Syrossian to Electric Brixton. Growing up in the early 90s organising acid house raves on the M42, Steve will demonstrate to the 1500 strong crowd what a true pioneer sounds like.

While we’re on the subject of pioneers this nation’s capital will also be saying hello to Greg Wilson at Bussey Building in Peckham. Famed remixer, tape deck extraordinaire and legendary crate digger, Greg Wilson is as close we southerners will ever get to experiencing The Hacienda.

It’s a very busy month for one of my personal favourites too, Bugged Out!. Firstly we have Dusky, Paul Woolford, Trevino and Pedestrian playing to the east end crowds at XOYO, while on the 12th a relatively unknown producer called Julio Bashmore will be performing at a ‘secret location’. Apparently he produced a tune called ‘Au Seve’? Never heard it personally…

From the esteemed team who brought you such classics as ‘Dalston Superstore’, Dance Tunnel continue to prove why they’re one of the capital’s best venues by welcoming Maurice Fulton and Chris Duckenfield to their basement on the 11th. AUS Music staple Leon Vynehall will also feature at the venue this month for mono_cult on the 18th.)

Not to be outdone, Egg London will play host to Ali Love and Luca C, collectively known as ‘Infinity Ink’, Mind Against and Crosstown Rebels’ Him_Self_Her for the launch of Night Train (Luckily, for those who have trouble sleeping after drinking a little too much coffee, the party continues until 11am, which is PERFECT if you enjoy taking the ‘tube ride of shame’ home on a weekend.

Everybody enjoys a good birthday right? Well this month celebrates two years for Talk Is Cheap and they want to invite you along (). RSVP’s for the night at Duke’s include Cera Alba, Filthy Rich, A Lister and a full Funktion One soundsystem. Party hats not provided.

While we’re on the subject of house music it Playing alongside Maxxi Soundsystem, Horse Meat Disco, Luke Solomon and Optimo to name but a few, if you seek a night that will take you through a history of dance music via Disco, Funk, classic Electro and of course house, then search no more.

Golden Ticket

You have to wait till the end of the month but our pals down at Data Transmission team up with Spacestation on the 25th to come to the Bussey Building. Doorly is the special guest, but the delightful Bodhi are the ones calling out for me, stream their groove mixes above for reason why.
