they, one of Scotland’s best LGBTQIA+ event brands, lands in SWG3 Poetry Club in Glasgow on Saturday 5th October 2024 with a massive day party in celebration of the brand hitting its one-year milestone.
This queer-led party has been taking Glasgow by storm, creating spaces for freedom and self-expression while aiming to make the city’s queer community more visible. But it’s also about "having a really good f*cking dance."
Forbidding sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, ageism, and any other kind of discrimination, their vision is simple: everyone having a great time together! They provides a much-needed safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community to dance their hearts out, with allies welcome, too.
Going all-out for their first birthday bash, They has enlisted artists spanning house, tech house, rave, hyper-pop, queer dance bangers, and more. Those on the lineup for this one are Babyjaii, Danyo, Panooc, Salam Kitty, Suzie Mac, and Vivian Bam Bam. These DJs - many of whom are queer and active in the queer clubbing scene and some being local heroes - are certain to provide the perfect soundtrack.
And since it's such a huge celebration, there’ll also be go-go dancers and more performers who’ll be announced soon.
A portion of ticket sales will be donated to Not A Phase, a vital trans-led, grassroots charity that is dedicated to awareness campaigning, social projects, and funding new initiatives for the community.
Tickets for They’s first birthday party are on sale now. Secure yours now towards the bottom of the page and “come as you are or who you want to be.”
