Review of Banff Castle Rocks
The stage area is tucked away in a corner with not enough space for everyone to watch the bands. The sound can't be heard properly if you're on the main grass area and not at the stage area. It's like 2 separate areas.
No wine for sale at the bars! So many people complaining about that, myself included.
I wouldn't attend another festival at this venue unless changes were made.

A great event unfortunately the area to view the bands was not suitable. No speakers around the event to hear the music if you were situated in the grass area. Great bands but set up let it down.

Review of Banff Castle Rocks
The set up of the gig was not good at all. We were all sitting in what could only be described as a pen! So much empty space in the beer tent and behind it, that could have been better used by crammed in people! You couldn't see the stage from the seating area. The stage viewing area was very small compared to the amount of people that were there. The disabled facilities were limited and I was told that I couldn't use them as I "wasn't in a wheelchair". Food options were also limited for someone on a restricted diet as it was fried food only and you were not allowed to take on your own food. The only soft drink in the beer tent was a Lemon C**e!!!
It's a shame as this has the potential to be a great gig but sadly needs a lot of tweaking before I would return.

Despite giving the above rating, what the heck was the decision to have the staging etc set up the way it was?
Honestly, it was a ticketed event, you knew how many people were going to be there. I'd understand if it was an ad hoc set up & due to the beautiful day, 100s of people turned up out of the blue. But no, you knew how many people, so why have the stage behind the Castle, where the least amount of people could be. To add to that, the area where you knew where the VAST amount of people would be sitting, you chose not to have large speakers so at least everyone could hear the bands. Overall an utter shambles. I felt so sorry for the bands. All that people there, yet they could only see a limited amount in a wind tunnel. Great bands, great location, decent drinks prices (although no wine🤷🏻♀️). Disastrous set up.

Although it was a beautiful day that didn't help the crowd enjoy what should have been a great event . The stage was crammed into a small back courtyard . Whilst the massive empty beer tent was on the lawn . Everyone was sitting outside on the lawn and only a few people were inside. Only one donut can and one burger van so massive queues , and you weren't allowed to take any food in with you . . Drinks were £4 each but no cans of c**e , only available from 2 litre bottles . No wine available at all , which isn't great if you don't drink spirits . Given the age range of the crowd this wasn't a teenage rave so perhaps a bit better planning next time .

The event was really good. However, the set up was awful with the stage crammed into a wee corner and not enough room for everyone to get to see it and anyone left on the grass could not even hear the bands. My sister and brother in law left early as she is on crutches just now and had no chance of being able to squeeze through to see the bands. I imagine wheelchair users and other disabled people would have found it too difficult as well to me and everyone else I spoke to, the stage was in the worst place possible! Where the drinks tent was would have been the ideal place to have the stage. This has to be addressed for any future events like this or many people will just not go. It's a shame as it could have been so much better with a more sensible set up. We could have had the same experience for free that many had no choice by sitting outside the fence with the freedom to have their own drinks and pop to local pubs to use the toilet! Please put on more events like this but with a better set up.

Venue location is great however the actual setup within the area could be discussed to improve for future events. I understand that cost for additional security etc may play into it but it may be a better idea to have the stage at the grass area for more people to see and have a greater area of grass open.
Also your security was heavy handed vs taking of items in. I had a bag of crisps in my backpack from earlier and this was treated same as other food and drink and had to dispose of them (I mean that's not going to stop anyone buying from the vans). Hand sanitiser checked as well. A little draconian for a venue like Banff.
However that didn't spoil the day as the musical acts were absolutely fantastic and the venue beautiful. Would fully recommend to visit next time!

Felt stage was in wrong place . Should have been able to be viewed by everyone at all times. And some gas heaters put out . Was very cold and noticed a lot of people left early due to cold. Toilets should have had lighting inside when it was dark.
