Cowdray Hall venue information
The Cowdray Hall was built as a gift to the citizens of Aberdeen (c.1926) from the Cowdray family, and the recognition of its excellent acoustics for the performance of chamber music was one of the main factors that led to the formation of the Aberdeen Chamber Music Club in 1930. The musicians who play for the concerts the Club promotes are always delighted to perform in such sympathetic surroundings - some indeed have compared it favourably to the famous Wigmore Hall in London.
