Old Theatre Royal venue information

Nearly 250 years ago, an anonymous building in a quiet cobbled backstreet of Bath became the first Theatre Royal outside of London. Although the theatre closed in 1805, and the building was subsequently modified for other uses, the stage remains, as does much of the auditorium space. In recent years that space has been made available for performance events, particularly during some of the City’s many specialist Festivals.
