Review of Blancmange
Never been to Esquires in Bedford before, but it was quite an intimate venue. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As for the music, Neil Arthur didn't disappoint. I was not too familiar with Blancmange's more recent work so didn't know what to expect, but enjoyed the music and performance immensely. Neil builds a very good rapport with the audience. If you haven't seen the band live before I thoroughly recommend you check them out.

Review of Blancmange
Not been to Esquires before but venue staff really friendly; good choice of beers (Estrella yay!); and a good atmosphere. Blancmange were awesome as usual (this was my third time seeing them having seen them in Bedford in 2014 and in Northampton in November 2018). Good mix of newer tracks from the Wanderlust and Unfurnished Rooms album plus the old classics like Blind Vision, Game Above my Head, Living on the Ceiling. Finished with Waves. I even got a 'Hello and are you well?' from Neil when he saw me in the audience (right at the front in my Blancmange t-shirt again). Lovely guy - always seems to genuinely enjoy being on stage and interacting with the audience during and after the show - he stopped to sign posters and merchandise and say hi to fans after the show. Tour support staff also always really friendly and pleasant at each gig. Can't wait for the next Blankmange show :-)

Review of Republica
I went as part of a party to support our friends The Fyzz Wallis Band in their biggest gig so far. I am also a friend of the other support band Desensitised, and with Republica headlining it was a dream line-up. Loved the venue. Easy to find. Good facilities. The sound in the hall was excellent and made all the bands sound their best. And the staff at the venue were friendly and very helpful. My wife had a hip replacement last year, and a few other people had physical health issues. The staff arranged sweats for those who needed them. The atmosphere in the venue was electric. It was big enough to accommodate the bands, but not so large as to b e intimidating. The bands were around in the hall and it was easy to talk to them and give them encouragement which is so important when you are trying to establish yourself. It was a great event and I'd certainly use the venue again. It was also a positive experience for the bands, all of whom went for it and earned the respect of the audience. Yiou can always tell when a band is enjoying the experience and I think the whole experience enabled them all to play at their best. I have never seen our friends so relaxed and I noticed the same with desensitised and Republica.
