When picking a silent film to show it's important to find one with modern appeal. in our research we came across a gem! A film presumed lost until 2007, by an early pioneer of cinema, Cecil M. Hepworth which was made and set in our own Hebden Bridge.

IMDB puts the plot bluntly as 'A madman adopts the daughter of the dead woman who rejects him and forces her to marry a crook.' With all this unraveling amongst the moorland of the Yorkshire Dales it is fair to say that we are well into gothic territory.
