Review of Word of Mouth Over 30's DayClub Birmingham 070924
Massively disappointed with this event we left before 6pm. The venue was way too small for the number of tickets sold. The music on the outside terrace was good meaning most people wanted to be there - this led to over crowding to the point it felt unsafe. It was impossible to move never mind dance. Didn't help that there were many smokers also in this outside area, totally blocking the one entrance / exit - didn't feel remotely safe from a fire risk perspective. Also we didn't want to be burnt by a cigarette nor did we want to smell of smoke. Smokers should in our view have smoked outside the front of the building. Drinks were expensive particularly given there was no ice at all at the one bar and over £40 for 3 G&T's. Queue for the ladies toilet ridiculous again suggesting the venue not fit for this event. We usually go to Nice Underground's events at Lab 11 these are much better organised, feel safer, they are rammed but still room to have a good time as the venue is fit for purpose and smoking isn't an issue. Really wanted to love this event as we hoped we'd found another day party for us over 30's (well 40's in our case) but sadly we wouldn't book again. We spoke to multiple others inside who felt the same. Music inside was poor and mostly cheesy but appreciate this is down to personal taste but not what we expected at all based on the clips we'd seen on Facebook from previous events - sorry for the negative feedback 😢
