About

2025 Global double release tour

Berlin's Mary Ocher has been pushing the boundaries between pop and avant-garde for almost two decades, with playful and colorful form, and clever content that winks at everyone who recognizes its cultural and historical references.

Ocher is a self-taught punk poet, sound artist, director and visual artist, who toured the whole world.
Her new album, the critically acclaimed Your Guide To Revolutionjoins a series of apocalyptic and politically charged concept albums, it is a joyful ode to hope, released just six months after its predecessor, the edgy and experimentalApproaching Singularity: Music for The End of Time.

The two albums were mixed with Mercury Award-winning Mike Lindsay (of Tunng/LUMP)
and feature collaborations with Mogwai, Red Axes, harpist Serafina Steer (Bas Jan/Jarvis Cocker), composer Roberto Cacciapaglia,Mary's drummer duo Your Government, pieces by Dorothy Ashby and 12th century Persian poet Omar Khayyam,a homage to electronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshirem and much more. The pieces range from post-punk, folk and field recordings, to cumbia, cosmic synth compositions and deconstructed techno.

The new album was quickly embraced by the press, including "Album of The Week" by The Quietus, "Best Releases of spring 2024" by Bandcamp, The Wire, Flood Mag, The Fader and many, many more.

Throughout her career, Ocher has collaborated with a diverse array of artists including psych/rocknroll guru King Khan,avant-garde legends Die Tödliche Doris, Julia Kent and Felix Kubin, producers Hans Joachim Irmler of Krautrock pioneers Faust,Pyrolator and Mehmet Aslan among others, showcasing her versatility and passionate commitment to the preservation of underground music.
