Review of R&B Block Party B'ham Dru Hill Musiq BLACKstreet & Donell Jones
The venue sound was terrible if you wasn't at the front, at the back of the standing area you couldn't hear anything but the beat of the music.
We had to queue for over an hour to get in when it clearly stated doors will open at 4.30, but we weren't allowed in till 6.30.
The floor was sticky as if it's not been cleaned for a while, the drinks were expensive but the bar was ok and didn't have to wait long for a drink.
The queues to the toilets were ridiculous too.
The dj played great music in between artist, however the artist time between was long like had to wait 15 to 20 mins before they came on stage.

Poor PA system. Sounded terrible. Artists struggled with sound quality.
In addition, 1 &1/2 hrs delayed entry time in the rain and wind outside.

Prices of drinks were ridiculous, 2 bottles of Desparados and one bottle of water £18
Toilets were dirty
Went to the wrong Form and the security guy tgere said if he got a £1 each time someone came by mistake he'd be a millionaire

I didn't understand why were queuing up from 4.30 to 5:45 in the bloody rain and cold! Some of us are of age now and I needed the toilet!!
It would have been nice if Trevor Nelson came on as the host and spoke first. Hardly saw him!
Hand dryers not working in the ladies.
The venue wasn't great, sticky floors, could have opened other exits, took ages to get out from downstairs.

The acoustics were rubbish and you could not hear when artists were speaking or singing properly. The VIP section was just a balcony to stand at. Overall a nicer venue would have been better.

The music was not flowing, breaks in music and sound quality bad back of room. Blackstreet were good , and dru hill but music between acts was weak and other acts bought a slow vibe which killed any hype you may have been in. I talked to other people in crowd we all said the same thing. Capital 1 extra reloaded should have been playing

Overall it was quite a nice experience. We could have done with more than one place to buy drinks. The artist overall we're very good. I found BlackStreet to be a bit disappointing. Highly recommend. Please bring more R&B artists to Birmingham
