Review of Rajah Wid & Malie Donn Live in Birmingham

Waited 7 hours before performance started. One of the artist did not turn up. The other went to get his shoes. The sound system is crap. You can hardly hear the songs playing. The DJ,s keep playing the same songs over and over.

After waiting in the queue and finally getting to the front, I had asked the ONE person that they had scanning tick*ts which in itself was a joke considering the volume of people waiting to get in, what time the event started and she said 7. So why after 8pm was I still not inside despite queuing for what was close to an hour? After eventually getting in, I went to the bar and had asked for two double spirits and mixer and was appalled to be told that it was a total £40! For two drinks? The staff that served me during the night proceeded to tell me that the venue itself (King of Clubs) were not enforcing those ridiculous prices, but it was in-fact the promoter of the event. This made a lot of sense due to there being what can only be described as poorly written, unprofessional signage tossed onto the bar, which displayed the absurd price of the drinks. Funny that it wasn't clearly identifiable to anyone waiting to get a drink beforehand, because how can you explain to people that you're ripping them off to the extent that was enforced? Unfortunately, the night continued to get worse, as having being in the club for 5 hours, there was still no sign of the artists!!! I looked around and people were sitting on the ground, and others were sleeping on tables and leant against walls, and the general vibe was awful as you would expect having waited for so long. The music was too loud as was the mic, and at some point, after 6 hours in after the event had started, even the DJs were irritated and had started to ask for the artists to come out, and the fact that they would now need to be paid for overtime as they had been djing for way more hours than expected. I have been to many concerts before and this was nothing of the sort. The fact that the event location had been changed from Roller Jam in Digbeth to King of Clubs should've been my first indication of unprofessionalism and to therefore steer clear! The set up of the location was very much a club with no efforts made to even erect a stage/lighting/ ambience. Might as well have propped up a damn marquee. I decided to leave just before 12am because this was not the coming of Jesus, and I was not about to wait for some anybody for hours on end to no avail, because who are they to be idolising? Someone I knew decided to stay, and they said that the first support act came on after 12am. LOL. 12am? Started at 7pm and first artist on at 12am? Ok. They were then followed on by another supporting artist, with another 30 mins in between before Malie Donn came on, and then Rajah Wild whenever he could be a**ed. So, this event that was deliberately and wrongly advertised as a concert, which actually turned out to be a club appearance and therefore nothing of the sort, that had started at 7pm, finished around 2/3am, cost me way in excess of £100+ for 4 drinks alone (for myself and partner) for what I can imagine was to cover the cost of having the artists perform and line someone else's pock*ts nicely,  and more money spent with the two tick*ts I had purchased, was an absolute disgrace of an event. I am appalled and feel for EVERY single person that attended because I, like many others, could not have foreseen this happening and would have much preferred to have spent my hard earned money, efforts and TIME that I will never get back elsewhere! How dare we be obscenely over charged for drinks, how dare there be a lack of consideration for the time that people waited for the event to start, how dare the attitudes of the artists be so slack, that they did not apologise for the ridiculous time spent waiting! If I had stayed any longer, I would have missed my last train back home and then what? You try and support these events and artists and this is what you're faced with. Absolutely disgraceful and infuriating, and I hope that everyone in attendance managed to get home safely, despite the very high likelihood that their travel arrangements would have been disrupted. Thanks for nothing.

The act took all night to come on didnât get to see him ðbecause he came in at 2am 

Poorly organised, delays and the djs before the artist did not understand the assignment. 

I want a refund malie don came out at 1am when the show was supposed to start at 6pm
