Review of RUM RUM BIRMINGHAM PRESENTS NYE EVE PARTY 2024 - 31ST Dec

I attended your event last night at RumRum bar with my friend. We don't usually go out for new year but after a difficult year for us both I decided to treat us to a weekend away.

I opted for the VIP queue jump ticket option thinking it would be nice not to have to wait in line and be welcomed with a glass of bubbly.. It clearly stated on both the ticket purchased off Skiddle and your online Insta promo post that the doors opened at 9pm.

We arrived at the venue at 9:10pm. The bar was obviously closed with no one working the doors however there was a guy entering the venue that worked there. His attitude towards us from the get go was poor and stated the bar opened at 10pm.

We returned at 10:10pm with a queue of 20/30 people waiting to get into the venue. With our VIP queue jump tickets we approached the door staff showing them our tickets. Non of the door staff had been notified of the ticket stipulations. They were incredibly unhelpful brushing us off without any explanation instructing us to join the back of the queue. After waiting in line for 10/15 mins in the rain, with our queue jump tickets, I inquired as to why after spending over £70 for our tickets they meant absolutely nothing. Non of the door staff had any explanation, knew nothing of any VIP queue
jump tickets and were all very quick to just brush us off. A white guy then asked what the issue was and after explaining again he immediately got onto his phone and told me the the event manager was aware and would be coming to see us at the bar.

We entered the bar, obviously frustrated at the service we'd received and feeling really disappointed that spending that amount of money was clearly a complete waste of time. We ended up finally buying a drink after the only rum that was on offer was Bacardi (?!) and waited at the bar for @30mins. At this point it was @11pm and we already knew this wasn't the venue or event that it was made out or we anticipated it to be and we definitely didn't want to stay to see the new year in there. No manager came to see us so after feeling utterly scammed and having our night ruined we left.
