Introducing “Miss-en-scène”
A new club night with a European approach. We will be introducing a zero tolerance no phones policy on the dance floor. (What does this mean you may ask) - The use of an photography or video while in the dance floor area of the venue will be prohibited. You will receive stickers to cover both front facing and rear cameras and a sticker to also cover your phones flash. This is to insure that all participants can enjoy themselves without being disturbed/distracted and allow them to express themselves freely.
Raves in the late 80s and early 90s were built on the collective value of living in the moment. In many ways, this feels oppositional to a modern dance floor being flooded with a sea of phone cameras.
For clubs like Berghain, going camera free is often a crucial part of creating a safe space for Queer people to party and explore their sexuality, without the risk of having their preferences exposed to the outside world.
This is a safe space for all with no discrimination or judgement. Regardless of race/culture/genders/beliefs
