Review of Sonic Rock Solstice 2022
What a great little festival is SRS, or Sonic Rock Solstice as it's fully named.
A festival dedicated to the comic SpaceRock genre in all its breadth from light and mystical off towards the heavy and (wonderfully) weird.
Superb to have a built environment in which to enjoy the acts (particularly this time as it dint half rain - how brilliantly British festival!) and a well stocked bar too.
The Sound system was very good indeed and run well, and bands were able to have their shows recorded too. The backstage operation seemed to be very well organised and efficient; Bravo to the team there as that really makes a difference.
And good stalls, both for food and merchandise/related products.
Great to meet up with familiar and friendly faces, and nice to be able to camp on level ground too!
A top weekend indeed.

Review of Sonic Rock Solstice 2017
From the moment we arrived at the campsite on the Thursday night for pre-festival entertainment, (provided by Bruce Barthol) to the last fading chords of Night of The Hawks, the weekend in the countryside was a much needed remedy to events in the 'outside world'.
Good music, friendly bar staff, reasonable bar prices, great food and good natured pleasantries from folk in the local community all added to a great atmosphere ...oh and no rain at all!
The canal alongside the festival sight provided activities for good morning strolls and the local pubs The Bowling Green and The Boat & Railway provided post stroll/pre-gig refreshment!
Of the entertainment itself, highlights were many but special mentions for pleasant surprises must go out to Bruce Barthol, (and many thanks to John Roberts for the anecdotes and cd's), Howlin' Matt, Electric Cake Salad, The Heavy Metal Kids, King Bains, SlothMetropolis, (who really should have brought more cd booklets), Culture Dub Orchestra, Ethan and Reformation, Pink Diamond Revue, Litmus, Dr & The Medics, Crystal Jacqueline, BB Blackdog, Sonic Gypsy, Silver Trees and Demons of Old Metal to name but a few!
Many thanks to Martin Has been and all of the crew. Peace.
