Review of R&B Brunch at Tabu - Birmingham
I think that the venue in general was way to small to be hosting an R&B Brunch. Compared to the other venues I've seen on the R&B brunch's instagram page I think that it could have been selected more carefully...The walk up to the bar was spacious with V.I.P booths either side so I was expecting the main area to be the same but it was quite the opposite. Considering that this is where majority of the ticket holders would have been, I think they should have opted for a bigger venue. The price per ticket and the fact that the bottomless drinks only lasted from opening time 12-1 is insane. It could have at least been until 2.
The music was good, and the staff were friendly but unfortunately the whole event was a let down. If you want people to dance you need a bigger dance floor. It's supposed to be a vibe.
Or at least have some more seating. It's one or the other.
If there's not enough space to dance then people will want to sit down... The fact that it was advertised as brunch and not having enough tables and chairs to the ratio of people wasn't a smart move. On a massive note, ID's were definitely not checked or challenged.
I saw about 3 very obviously underaged people which should have been checked and challenged for their age. One of them being the younger sister of someone which I overheard in the bathroom. 😬
My own ID wasn't even checked upon entry and I do not look over 25 considering that I've been asked multiple times before at other places. - I am of legal age.
Such a risk in general allowing underage people to be there considering the environment and the alcohol, it the venue's responsibility to be checking these things.
On the plus side, the cleanliness of the venue was good and the toilets were nice.
But overall just do better next time you host an event in Birmingham.

Disappointed on the one hour brunch c**ktail choice. Queues at times for the punch was way too long. No space to dance, very cramped. Venue was too light, maybe black out the windows. We left after an hour as we didn't like the vibe in there

Great venue, great music and atmosphere, food portions tiny for the price and drinks a bit pricey. I would have given higher for the venue but the ladies toilets were absolutely disgusting. Not been cleaned, tissue everywhere, no toilet paper, no bins, poor lighting and broken toilet.

Review of Massi's Yard Brunch - Birmingham
Venue was freezing cold... the venue lacked atmosphere (not really the right venue for a day timer)... too bright...and layout not really right dance floor in corner by the area you have to walk thru n pass to go to loo or out...or to seating areas...the food was amazing though the staff the ladies were all great .. the DJ he just kept changing the track too quick to point ot git annoying you just couldn't enjoy a single song!!!!.... It's like he plays a chorus .. n by time you up or wanna go n dance he's already onto next.... He pretty much did this all afternoon and it just turned into how many tracks can I play!!!.... Considering we looked forward to this for weeks tbh apart from the gorgeous food it was a let down!!!.... The venue should stick to being a restaurant
