Review of Future Days w/ Gilla Band + friends
Had a great day, the music was absolutely fantastic and can't be beaten for value.
Unfortunately the food and drinks situation was not acceptable. The poster advertised craft ale, which whilst technically correct I do not think a single £5 can of 330ml ale is acceptable. The food stalls turned out to be just 1, and the market was just the band merchandise. You were only allowed out for 1 hour so could head very quickly into digbeth for alternative food but felt rushed. The reduction in the advertised food and drink may have been due to not selling all the tickets, but better to improve the drinks, scrap the food, and let people come and go throughout the day to get local food.
But as said the music was great, so will go again 👍

Music and venue great. Staff friendly and helpful. A really enjoyable evening but some of the sound quality didn't do the bands justice. In particular, The Lounge Society didn't get the mix right and it was difficult to hear their vocals.

Whilst the line- up and the music was fantastic, there was only one food outlet, and the bar was the standard bar at the crossing, which is limited to say the least. The H&H is miles better IMO and the AYL events there have been great.

Great atmosphere and venue was great. Event needed some additional drinks and food options. Only 1 food option was not good enough. Aside from that I couldnât fault it.

Really poor choice at the bar - only tins at £5 which was excessive. Really poor choice of food only 1 stall. We weren’t allow to leave the venue apart from 1 hour period but this would have meant missing bands. We felt trapped.

Future Days always gets great bands in to play with a varied and appreciative audience. The Crossing is a perfect gig space, with great acoustics for the main bands. (And the ladies has plenty of clean cubicles!)
However, as a festival, there are some challenges - the acoustics and visibility of the second stage aren't ideal, there are almost no places to sit (picnic benches in the rain, anyone?) The food choices are poor, the beer selection is awful (and expensive), and there is NO free water (previous FD, I had to buy a drink to get a cup that I could take to the water machine in a different part of the building. At this FD, the water machine was gone and I was told I could get (handwash hot) water from the loos !). But! The bands are great, so I'd probably go back
