About

Bar 137 137 Cocktails, House and Hedonists. Thursdays: Enjoy your favourite House tunes and sample our special offer cocktails varying each week. Friday: Deep House and Tech from special guest DJs and our local residents, M.I:T.A., IGotMoist, Stayhouse and Deep and Live with Sax and percussion. Saturday: Saturdays are Soulful and Sexy, expect deep vocal and soulful house music in an unpretentious European style bar for the hedonistic & chilled people. We have our regular Saturday promoters in Tempo Twins and Re-Edit. I don't know if you are aware of what we are about since the opening press release but we have been championing underground house music in Blackpool for over a year, bringing a wealth of named DJs from all over the world to 137 and becoming accredited internationally as a main venue of House Music with write ups in many of the biggest DJ magazines and music press. We have had DJs from America including DJ Rahaan from Chicago, DJ Grimy from L.A and disco legend John Morales from New York, who launched his new album, M + M mixes Vol 2 at our popular Zunday Zocial Night(every Sunday). Other notable names include, Audiowhores (Defected Records) Matt Tolfrey (Leftroom Records), Groove Assassin (MN2S King St), Robert James (Hot Natured), ELLESSE, Redsoul (Playmore Records) Ziggy Funk (Foilage Recs), DeepCitySoul (Birmingham), Tempo Twins (London Manchester) and it is a spiritual home to the ‘Dustitutes’. The atmosphere is always brilliant and relaxed as we have a strict door policy ensuring the right clientele who are into House music or for the more discerning clubber not looking for the usual Blackpool entertainment. All our drinks are premium brands and we are best known for our cocktails. We have a number of trained mixologists working for us and are launching our 137 House Masters Cocktail list on the birthday weekend. This is a new menu paying homage to some House Legends from both the soulful and deeper underground house scene. Some examples are: Little Louie Vega Bomb, (Derrick) Carter Crush, Chicago Shake etc. It is a well though out, almost geeky menu as even the ingredients have been made relevant to the drink. For example the Derrick Carter is known for his 'Jackin' House so it is a Jack Daniels based cocktail, the Chicago and Detroit cocktails have bourbons relating to the prohibition era and so on. This menu is already being welcomed by the relevant House masters behind each drink as they have been sent copies of their respective concoction and the music press is also featuring it in next month’s press publications.. We have 137 recording studios fully operational now above the bar. This is available to hire if you are a DJ wanting to create a tune that has been burning around your hear or a singer looking to record yourself. We have a live vocal booth and full recording equipment and can supply professional printed copies of your album mix or masterpiece. There seems to be a turn for the better in Blackpool Town Centre culture as it now seems to be attracting bigger brands once again as peoples expectations are rising we would like to feel that we are a part of a bigger picture of putting Blackpool back on the map both in the U.K. and further afield at the forefront of modern vibrant places to visit.
