Not enough chairs for the amount of people, had to stand all evening and it would have been nice to have a safe place to leave your coats, not just random racks scattered around the place.

This was my first Christmas Tree Ball and I was very disappointed. I paid for VIP tickets but did not get any VIP treatment. Didn't even get a chair and had to stand all night. Couldn't buy a bottle of wine and my spirit of choice was only available at the bar in the other room and only plastic glasses. To say it was a Christmas Tree Ball, there wasn't even a Christmas Tree, or any other decorations apart from the projection behind Eddie. I am a big fan of Eddie and enjoyed his set.
I see that most of the reviews are similar and I would have requested a refund (even partial) if I could work out how.

Not value for money. It was just like two pub rooms with old music nothing much up to date. Live music on way too late. No food or snacks available for the price of the ticket nothing much offered. Won’t be going again. No idea why it was called a ball. Everyone spent money on lovely outfits for sitting in two pubs

Diabolical shambles. Freezing cold venue without a christmas tree in sight. Poor bar choice with throw away plastic glasses. Was like spending an evening in a bad working mens club. Organiser should be ashamed of himself!

Maybe sales tickets were down because of the football but way smaller room than earlier years.

It was a disaster, there wasn’t one Christmas decoration or Christmas tree which you would expect as it’s called the Christmas tree ball! The room was terrible, the bar was tiny and very pricey. Everyone was in the other bar that had an atmosphere. About 100 people in the room at the most! Terrible terrible terrible

No where near as good as 3 years ago when it was held at the Imperial Hotel. We certainly wouldn’t class it as a ball and not as many people seemed to be in attendance. No Christmas atmosphere at all.
Fingers crossed next year will be a good one.

Was really looking forward to this event. Shame .... the big room was empty, cold and very little places to sit. I went with my 30year old daughter and due to both rooms only playing 80s music, she didn't know any of the songs. No real Christmas decorations in the hall and no atmosphere. Very disappointed no don't think I would attend again or recommend. The lady on reception had no idea what was happening when asked. 2/10 to the winter gardens. Real shame

Worse thing ever letting the guests watch the football in the venue room because we had to wait in another room until the football had finished and they had cleared the chairs away! The bar room we were waiting in had the heating on full, and because we were just sat waiting it killed the mood!

The real thing were bobbins as bad as that one toothed crack head Alexandra O’Neil you put on a few years ago.

Where should I start.
1. VIP area joke people just walking in from other bar who haven't even bought tickets.
2. Dress code t-shirts and track suits not exceptable.
3. No Christmas decorations up not even a Christmas tree.
4. Entertainment missing some of the events promised i.e. saxophonist plus other Entertainment not there.
5.DJ in main area far to much bass and loud this was supposed to be soul music to make it relaxing ear drums almost burst.
6. Not enough seating for the guest which causing people to stayed in bar.
7. No cloakroom for coats just a hanging rail with no supervision.
8.Plastic glasses for drinks are adults not children.
9. The amount of guest complaing to each other putting a black mark on night.
10. Previous Balls at Imperial Hotel 1000 times better.
11. Main Entertainment gone midnight far to late people leaving before the performance.
12. Only two members of group plus singing other people covers.
13. Temperature cold ladies having to wear coats...
There was 4 couples attending event so disappointed.
I couldn't even give you a score out of 10
I was hopeful we could have made this a regular event with friends but on this event this will not happen.

Absolute dog plop. The Christmas Tree ball used to take the whole of the Winter Gardens, this was two pony rooms with awful sound systems, prices at the bar were higher than Kate Moss after a bag of Columbian Canderel. I would rather have sat at home, shat in my hands and clapped than go to that awful pile of dog excrement
