Fantastic event, well supervised, great atmosphere. Ramsbottom was a great location, great places to eat and drink & more importantly fantastic riding. Entertainment was superb, as was the food at the venue. I hope the northern grip team build on this success next year. Cant wait for the next one.

Really good, why didn't you do it at a trail park though? More room, more rides, less set up, parking, camping etc. I liked it, price would stop me going again or would just turn up, do the trail, skip the traders. Maybe a day price next year? Great people, great to test bikes, plenty of music, marching band playing trance was awesome

As I live local this is just what was needed to get mtb'ers together and ride natural trail's.
The event on Saturday was well organised and the demo bikes were well catered for. Just needed a few extra stalls to sell bike products / merchandise . The live band sounded good just a shame they were stuck around the back of the civic hall . With the weather being really nice that day could do with an open air beer tent.
The bike ride on Sunday at the eagle and Child was a good idea , having a bacon butty before you ride, ( got a stitch later) lol .
When arriving at Cragg quarry it would be a good idea to have a food and drink stall to get our energy back and to chill out. A few people were caught out how hilly it was.
The ride around the quarry was good just needed markers to find your way home ,as some riders who weren't from around here , I felt got left behind so may have struggled to get back .
Also would be a good idea to have the event at the Civic hall on a Sunday to finish the weekend off , for people who have travelled a fair distance .
And also a hub for riders coming back from Cragg quarry to have a pint of local ale or two.
Overall I think you've done a good job for a 1st event and the price was fair for the event. 👍
Thanks,
Jason Walker

The weekend was brilliant - well organised, nice people, good stalls, ace riding. Best bits were the fantastic food (and beer) available, the crazy band 'Mr Wilson's Second Liners, the amazing mechanics at Madison (who fixed two of our bikes, foc, including parts!!!). The campsite at the Paddock was well run (but expensive!) and there could have been a few more stalls at the Hub, but then this is year 1; in a few years this event should be massive.

Great fun, good trails and welcoming atmosphere. Weather helped on Saturday and didnt dampen things too much on Sunday. Good food and drink at the hub and Pub. A bit restricted for socialising around the hub, a marquee outdoor with more seating and perhaps if it comes back bigger and better a central location for both days based in a field or sports club would be even better. As first time festivals go though it was a winner!

Top weekend! Demo bikes on proper trails is always a winner but throw in sausage rolls the size of bricks at the top of the first climb and you are onto a sure fire winner.
Great to have special access to some National Trust land and the map plus signage made navigation a breeze. The guided ride on Sunday continued the theme and helped show off the riding in the area.
Nice to have high quality food stalls and the beer was first rate too with sensible pricing. The live bands were good quality with Mr Willsons Second Liners being outstanding - DJs don't do it for me anyway so more bands next time.
Would come again if there is a repeat. Thanks to all involved.

An amazing weekend all round, and at a really keen price. I especially enjoyed being able to go for a blast on some of the many demo bikes, as well as having a chance to meet some local riders (the Sunday group ride was excellent in this regard). What I heard of the live music was fantastic, although schedule clashes with the kid's bedtimes meant I didn't catch as much of it as I'd have liked. The DJs playing throughout the day and evening kept the energy up and created a nice atmosphere. Food at the venue was excellent, as was the NG "Bunny Hop" ale.
The only minor things I'd have changed about the event would be: locker or cloakroom facilities for stashing gear during the day, and on-site showers. However, neither of these took the shine of what has been a very enjoyable and memorable weekend, hopefully the first of many Northern Grips!

Great little event. The event was obviously focused on mountain bikers but even my wife enjoyed herself and she's not been on a bike for years!
Plenty of food choices on offer and the specially brewed beer at £3 a pint was lovely.
Topped off with great music especially Mr Wilson's Second Liners who kindly serenaded our two year old as he danced away. Brilliant afternoon.

Highs: Friendly, busy atmosphere. Great food. Lovely venue on both days.
Lows: Lack of parking on first day...that is all.
