Review of Pure 90's
dj was average, all house, venue is in a bit of a state, needs some investment and place was not busy, so all that has clearly seeped through to the market. the pub next door was three times as busy beforehand

Review of Jaggers Comedy Club. 1st Class Stand up Comedy Entertainment
Very disappointed when 2 of the 4 acts that were supposed to be on, weâre unable to turn up (broke down on the way to the venue) when offered the opportunity to be given tickets to another night, no member of staff were able to help.

Review of Hedkandi Present Back To Love @ Canvas (NEARLY SOLD OUT
It was great to see Hed Kandi in full swing in Bournemouth, with a full show reminiscent of the good old days, with dancers and live percussion and sax. The crowd was friendly, and the atmosphere was great. Staff in the club, from security to the bar, were absolutely lovely. It was perfection from their side.
There were two flies in the ointment. (1) the "Back to Love" billing evoked Hed Kandi of old, suggesting house classics and decent dance music. Astonishingly, Mark Doyle - one of the early pioneers of heavenly house music and alumni of legendary radio shows, CD complilations and club nights since the old days - instead chose to play a set that wouldn't have been out of place in any old ritzy club night. The discerning crowd put a brave face as he spun records like Abba's "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!", Sophie Ellis-Bextor's "Murder on the Dancefloor", and countless other cheesy pop tunes that made us check several times we hadn't stumbled into a Magic FM tribute night by mistake. My friends had travelled from as far as Leicester for a dose of Back to Love magic, so the music left us feeling pretty disappointed. (ii) Mark's set was beset with technical issues. Suki Soul's live PA was ruined by mic malfunctions, there were whole swathes of the set where there was no bass coming out of the speakers, and Doyle's beatmatching was patchy at best. Kincaid and Tim Byham had more luck, and their back-to-back set in the middle wasn't beset by EQ nightmares, cheesy records or dodgy mixing. They saved the night.
Lots of fun, in spite of an off-form Mark Doyle, who I have seen do 1000x better many times before.

Review of Hedkandi Present Back To Love @ Canvas (NEARLY SOLD OUT
Hed Kandi was a fantastic night. The music was awesome to dance the night away to and the DJ's were superb. Especially TJByham and Kincaid who smashed the tunes out!!
Myself and my friends will definitely be back for the next one!!
