The Neuroscience of Emotions: Regulating Your Brain & Body

About

Did you know that many emotions are processed in a specific part of the brain called the amygdala? This small almond-shaped structure plays a crucial role in processing emotional information and is especially active when we experience fear and anger. The way we feel emotions is also influenced by other parts of the brain – and includes our brains mapping emotions onto our bodies, and changes within our bodies – which is why we feel joy in our heart, or a sense of doom in our stomach.

This talk will teach you the complex interplay between the different regions of the brain that give rise to our emotional experiences. Learn more about the science behind how our emotions are formed, how they impact our daily lives and how we can use this knowledge to regulate our emotions better.

Doors open at 7pm, talk starts at 7.30pm - come down early to grab a good seat!
