First Press Record Fair and Slack City return to The Prince Albert for another day of vinyl digging and DJs on Sunday 1st December 12-4 and as usual it’s all free entry.
Some new faces join us alongside some First Press favourites. Stocked crates will be across both floors from DJ Billy Nasty, Mr Bongo, Rob Life, Keyring Records, Union Lewes, Inverted Audio and Greg Phillips for the first time at the Albert, whilst David Loja, Vinyl Selecter and The Record Album will be on hand as ever to round out the line up.
Slack City Radio will be providing the all vinyl line up featuring John Warr (Afrobase), Anna Barnfield (The Record Caddy), Chloe & Evey (Motor Skills) and O. Leather (Paradise Noir) having a spin upstairs at the Albert and live on the airwaves

keyring records, a reference to the inimitable image of a butch lesbian with a big old ring of keys in her belt loop, is a queer owned record shop. a butch lesbian is often a protector, a leader, and the most supportive figure in their community. mobile and online, we visit record fairs with the intention of passing on mike’s collection (plus our future reclaimed and undiscovered lp’s) and using his unknowing gift to encourage vinyl lovers and the vinyl curious to broaden, expand, and open up their horizons.

AfroBase is an afro-tropical exploration of new and old, psych and funk friendly tracks playing pre-release previews, brand new releases, and long lost vinyls. We’re joined by John Warr who’ll be opening up proceedings of the day with a selection of AfroBase favourites
—- Record Caddy —-
Anna, The Record Caddy, is an all vinyl Aussie selector based out of sunny Brighton. Resident on Totally Wired Radio, Anna is taking a guest slot on Slack for the afternoon. What can you expect from her show? A load of rare groove classics, funk, soul, breaks, acid jazz and all things female that fall into that category.

Choe and Evey host Motor Skills, a monthly Slack City show showcasing their favourite experimental, post punk and electronic acts. Chloe has worked both as a professional musician and music industry marketer, performing around the world at music festivals and venues, including Maddison Square Gardens and the O2 Arena in London. Within her performance and marketing career she has worked with BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6, Triple J and Apple Music. Evey is a musician and illustrator, and hosts Monomania, a bi monthly experimental open mic at the Rose Hill in Brighton and is part of the Patchworks Label collective, releasing a broad range of electronic and experimental acts from the local area and further afield.
