Review of Alfresco Disco presents: Club Gymkhana
The music was great, and I enjoyed the variety-however, not much of the disco. The facilities were well-maintained, especially the clean toilets, which is unusual for such a venue. However, I feel that the nature of the place (stable) was not suitable for a day party.
I'm confused about the security situation. I understand the zero-drugs policy, and we respect it. However, the female and male security approached my friend, saying she needed to leave (basically being kicked out) because "they saw her doing something" while she was only reaching for her jacket in her leather backpack. I had to stand up for her with others, saying she didn't have anything. Then, all of a sudden, they thoroughly searched her backpack, taking everything out and finding nothing! As we said! It could have been one in a million things she could have taken out. So why was she kicked out straight away??? I saw other people being kicked out, but what happened to us was out of order and it really spoiled our good moods.

This should have been good - but seeing wasted idiots pissing all over a disabled riding centre was sad, and it shouldn't haven't happened. Poorly organised this time Alfresco.

Absolutely brilliant event. Great venue, fabulous music and excellent atmosphere. Look forward to the next one.
On a negative note last entry was supposed to be at 3 pm, would have been better if that had been pushed to 5 or 5.30 pm so people weren't in a mad panic trying to get stuff sorted in the morning and then feeling frazzled when they got to the venue. Would also have been more convenient if details of the venue had been released 24 hours in advance so could more easily make travel arrangements.
