ABOUT SHAKARA @_shak.ara

Shakara is a versatile multidisciplinary artist, combining spoken word and singing to articulate the depth of their creative expression. Integrating spirituality, healing practices, and personal identity into their work, Shakara crafts pieces that resonate with radical vulnerability and empowerment. Their art serves as a conduit for self-discovery and communal healing, inviting audiences to engage with themes of authenticity and transformation.

ABOUT LEILAH @leilahjanekingpoet

Leilah is a g@y footballer and coach, mental health advocate and stand-up poet based in Bristol. Her debut poetry collection Midnight Picnics in Tehran was published by Burning Eye Books. She is the Co-founder and host of monthly open mic night Time Of The Month held at Cibomatto in Easton. She'll be sharing brand new work from her brand new book "We Are Hungry For Androgyny" published with Polari.

ABOUT AISH @aish_humphreys

Aiysh is a poet, performer and workshop facilitator from Cornwall, living in Bristol. They have performed all over the UK and last year worked in Romania with Tongue Fu exploring the relationship between music and spoken word. They were the poet in residence for the SS Great Britain in 2022 and their first poetry pamphlet, Saints of Golden Hour was released in February which treads soberness, girlhood, queer relationships and the gods we create for ourselves.

ABOUT JESS HERE @jesshere_obd

Jess grew up on three continents then at age 19 I moved to NYC to study dance at The Ailey School. She's been dancing and singing the entire length of her memory. After graduating, she spent a season releasing original music and materializing her musical visions. She supported herself by working in nightlife. Simultaneously, because pain is an effective teacher, she studied Gyrokinesis, earned her trainer’s license, and have rejuvenated a wide variety of bodies. All of these paths have led her to the decks. When she DJs, she constructs a temporary autonomous zone designed to hold us while we embrace ourselves, traverse our kinetic and mental crevices, rodeo in the undercurrent, or just float around in the atmosphere.

ABOUT LEXX @a_lexx_a_

LEXX whips the finest Reggaeton, Afrobeat, Dancehall, House and Drum & Bass into sets that sweat and reset. She will throw you into the deep end and you will love it. LEXX's dance floor is a space for those of you who know there's more to life. A sexy space where gender gets bent and all beings are held in love. A space where you can dance freely to meet your struggle and release it all. Come get it.
