Review of Burlesque Wonderland Presents: Cirque du Burlesque
Poor and amateurish. Was more like a student effort than anything professional The MC was struggling to fill the gaps between the short acts, which also lacked any great excitement or imagination. If you're going to put on a show, it needs a lot more thought and planning than this. Don't feel I got much value for money.

Review of Stanley Clarke at the Fleece
I have been a fan of Stan since the 70s, so no surprise that I liked this concert. Still playing the same style of music forty years later, and playing just a well. He has gather around him a group of quite young musicians, who were excellent. I have to pick out the drummer who was very special. He played almost none stop for over two hours, stopping only to say "hi" and to introduce the band.
The venue is, like most venues, very dated, painted black, though it does have some historic features, mostly cast iron columns that get in the way of your view of the stage. The ticket said 7.30, but they kept us waiting outside, in a slight drizzle until ten to eight. Things like that can be easily avoided.
All in all a great evening, look forward to the next great bass player they bring along.

Review of Stanley Clarke
Amazing performance by Stanley Clarke and his band. Played a long set so worth the money. A bonus to be able to see a world rebound musician performing in my home town! More of the same please

Review of Stanley Clarke
Stanley Clarke at The Fleece? Who would have thought it? OK, that's the pro's covered here's the cons literally. I found out the ticket price with any other seller was around £22 not the £31.65 that skiddle.com charged me. The other outlets had tickets left also. There were so many people 'kettled' into this venue it must be a fire hazard. It was so full that I spent the whole time in the venue feeling very uncomfortable, squeezed and constantly pushed around, it was awful! The sound was very poor, Stanly Clarke the bass hero, who's show I had come to see, was vastly overshadowed by the drum sound, a very poor sound balance in every respect.
