An exploration of Psychedelics & Consciousness w/ Dr Timmermann

Whether mystical, cathartic, or insightful, the psychedelic experience provides feelings of deep insights and understanding of human consciousness, as well as benefits in mental health. Based on brain imaging and psychological studies involving psychedelics, we will explore in what way these compounds may provide valuable insights into consciousness.

We will also explore some of the key outstanding questions in psychedelic science, and how they shape practical and ethical implications in an age of accelerating mainstream interest of these compounds.

Christopher Timmermann (PhD) is a neuroscientist and psychologist from Santiago, Chile and based at the Centre for Psychedelic Research in Imperial College London, where he conducted the first neuroimaging studies on the effects of the potent psychedelic, DMT. His work focuses on the neuroscience, psychology, beliefs and ethics of the psychedelic experience.
