Review of DakhaBrakha at The Lanes, Bristol w/ Yama Warashi
Had a great night but it was really packed - would have been better With a slightly smaller crowd, many of us were stuck at the side of the stage and the speakers are right and the front and face outwards so sound wasn’t very good from where I ended up standing unfortunately.

Review of DakhaBrakha at The Lanes, Bristol w/ Yama Warashi
Wasn't sure about the venue beforehand because putting on world music seems new to them as they normally mainly cater for late night DJ / house sounds which is not our scene as we're now in our 60s. In fact the venue was ideal. Nice relaxed crowd, good vantage points for viewing the stage, and the security was friendly and unobtrusive. Sound was also excellent. DakhaBarakha probably got a better reception here than in seated auditoriums where they usually play. Overall a great and memorable evening to see such a unique act. We look forward to similar events being staged again.

Review of DakhaBrakha at The Lanes, Bristol w/ Yama Warashi
The sound from the PA was good quality but not loud enough to carry beyond the first few ranks of people. Dakhabrakha are a band that need to be listened to carefully to catch the intricate interplays between the members. I had difficulty enjoying the gig as the sound failed to cut through the background chatter of the audience ( many of which seemed to prefer to talk noisily rather than listen). The venue is an odd shape also so unless you were within 15 foot of the stage you couldn’t hear clearly. Wrong venue for this band!

Best gig I've seen in a long time. Would love to see more acts like this in Bristol. Venue and sound were really good. Perhaps the stage could have been higher, as the band were sitting down so it was a little hard to see.

think the only minus thing for me was that because we,d never been to the venue and didn't now the lay out and our friend wanted to sit down😑 the view we had was a little restricted. BUT,😠I'll know again for next time.
