Review of Deptford Northern Soul Club
The venue at Thekla was different as it was on an old boat moored at the harbourside.
The event was brilliant with great music especially from local girl Levanna McClean aka Northen Soul Girl who brought the dance floor alive. The clientele were a really mixed bunch of some who had come specifically for the Northern Soul & the rest a mix of students/locals who normally go there anyway but enjoyed the music & watching the amazing dancing. The bar prices were what you would expect in a major city centre venue & the staff served you very quickly. The upstairs bar was great for dancing as the floor was polished wood however the main dance floor downstairs was a bit sticky & could do with a bit of attention or bring some talc !
