Iconic 80’s Soul/ Disco band, Change are celebrating the re-release of their classic 1984 album ‘Change of Heart’ with a 40th Anniversary Tour.
4 dates at London’s Jazz Cafe are now sold out 6 months in advance and due to demand the band have added some regional dates around the UK & will come to Cambridge’s Junction venue on Sunday 15th December
In the 80’s Cambridge and surrounding areas were strongholds for the genre of music and show promoters TOSB are hoping that many of the ‘original Soul Boys and Soul Girls’ will be tempted out for ‘One more song’ on the 15th December.
Support for the night will be announced shortly, however ,Cambridge’s very own 80’s Soul Survivor DJ Chris Brown will host the night – playing a set of classic 80’s dancefloor tracks to ensure the atmosphere is definitely ready for the band.
Biography - European-American collaborations were not uncommon during the disco and post-disco eras. Change are among the most noteworthy international acts to spring up during the early ’80s. The group released 11 other charting singles, as well as six charting albums, two of which peaked in the Top Ten of Billboard’s RnB Albums chart.
Change of Heart is the fifth studio album by the band Change. It was released in April 1984 and reached the Top 40 Album chart in the UK.
Some 40 years on the band return to the UK to celebrate its release in front of a ‘Class reunion of all the suburban Soul Boys and Girls from this glorious mid 80’s era
With the influence of magic producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis ( also heavily involved with the likes of the SOS Band at the time )the album was a dancefloor classic in the more upfront UK Soul Clubs and tracks such as ‘Change of Heart , You are My Melody were instant classics along with 2 more tracks from the album "It Burns Me Up"and "Say You Love Me Again".
