What is Utterance Worldwide Poetry Slam?

Utterance has been running since 2022, celebrating spoken word artists in Kent competing for the title of Utterance Grand Slam Champion. In 2023, Utterance went Worldwide, incorporating online livestreaming to broadcast spoken word artists from China, America, Zimbabwe and all across the UK onto stage! 

What is a poetry slam?

Great question! If this is your first experience of poetry in this format, it's a competition where you, the audience, vote on the performances for 1) Relevance to the theme, 2) Performance and 3) Written content. The highest scorer wins the slam! 

All art is relevant and subjective, slams are a friendly space to develop works and, most importantly, have fun performing!

Ticketing

At Sunrose Arts CIC, we value experiences being affordable and accessible to all. That's why we have a three tiered pricing, as below:

£2 - Reduced fee (to support anyone with a lower income attend)

£5 - Standard fee

£10 - Premium fee (you will get a goody bag of various pieces of art upon arrival)

£0 - Virtual attendance via zoom, free ticket (please book in so we can send you an access link)
